Venice, Italy

We arrived in Italy and headed straight for the "parking island" that has been built for people to park on before they catch water transport to the island of Venice.

We took a boat over and landed just near St Marks Square. We roamed the streets of Venice and picked up a few things. It was a very hot day and as we wandered over a bridge we saw a door to the left that looked like a restaurant. We went in and they had a single table on a Juliet balcony overlooking the canal. We had a delicious, romantic lunch there, eating a Calabrese salad, eating gelati and watching the gondolas pass right beside us.

After lunch we strolled around some more, looked around St Marks Square and then took a ride in a gondola with two lovely musicians who serenaded us with Italian songs. As we moved along the canals it was amazing to see all the old buildings and water ways.

It was lovely to spend the day with Matt, just chatting and making memories that will last a lifetime.
